The Thirteen Moon Calendar:

In a solar year the moon phases from new to full a total of 13 times, in 28 day periods. 13x28 totals 364 days. The 365th day of the year is referred to as the "Zero Day", or more appropriately... the "Day Out Of Time". Ancient civilizations including the Mayans, Druids, and Egyptians also used this calendar. The Lunar Calendar is far more pratical in tracking yearly time, tide fluctuations, and many of the human body's natural cycles. In 1933 the League of Nations (forerunner of the United Nations), moved to change the world calendar to the 13 month system. The Vatican opposed the idea claiming it to be Paganistic, deeming the number 13 taboo. Since 1992, July 25th has been observed as the Zero Day of the 13-month "Lunar" Calendar in over 90 countries worldwide. Join us July 24th through the 26th, as the world unites under the banner of peace to celebrate the moon, the earth, and the sun in all their glory.     Read more...
